Clean Thermal Power

Overview of Support
Clean Thermal Power
- Achievement of NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution) targets. Supporting technology development for low-carbon/zero-carbon(ammonia and hydrogen co-firing/full-firing) of coal/gas power plants and localization of power generation equipment.
Support Areas and Detailed Contents
Clean Thermal Power
Achievement of NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution) targets. Supporting technology development for low-carbon/zero-carbon(ammonia and hydrogen co-firing/full-firing) of coal/gas power plants and localization of power generation equipment.
- Ammonia Co-Firing Development of technology to drastically reduce carbon emissions compared to existing coal-fired power plants, mixing ammonia, a carbon-free fuel into existing coal-fired power plants by replacing coal as the main fuel.
- Hydrogen Co-Firing Developing technologies that integrate hydrogen, a zero-carbon fuel, into existing LNG power plants to reduce carbon emissions and accelerate the early adoption of hydrogen-based power generation technologies.
- Hydrogen Full-Firing Development of high-efficiency gas turbines using carbon-free hydrogen fuel in existing LNG power plants. Power system technology development for a stable and economical zero-carbon power grid that can adapt to the variability of renewable energy sources.
